Creative wellbeing

OUR CREATIVE WELLBEING PROGRAMMES USE THE ARTS TO SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH, BUILD CONFIDENCE AND HELP YOUNG PEOPLE THRIVE

Creative, welcoming spaces where children and young people can express themselves, build connections and access support in ways that feel comfortable, engaging and relevant to them.

Through specialist creative wellbeing and therapeutic arts programmes, we support children and young people experiencing mental health challenges, autism, neurodivergence and other barriers to wellbeing. Using creativity as a tool for expression and connection, our programmes can help young people communicate, build confidence, strengthen their wellbeing and explore experiences that can sometimes be difficult to put into words.

Creative approaches to wellbeing

We know that traditional forms of support don’t work for every child or young person. Creative activities can provide a different kind of space — one that feels less formal and gives young people different ways to express themselves and connect with others.

Working alongside NHS services, schools, families and community partners, we combine specialist expertise with strengths-based, culturally responsive creative practice. Our programmes focus on each child or young person’s strengths, interests and potential, creating environments where they can feel understood, supported and able to take part in ways that work for them.

Our impact

Our specialist wellbeing work has grown significantly through partnerships with NHS and community mental health services. In 2026, we secured funding to provide specialist creative wellbeing and therapeutic arts support for children and young people experiencing mental health inequalities, emerging psychosis and autism.

East London Creative Wellbeing Hub
